Turning the crazy up to eleven.

Lost Beyond the Sea of Stars: Hope Fades Under an Alien Sky

At the whims of a mad demigod our plucky heroes are stranded on an alien world! Now a normal group of young adventures would surely have buckled under the knowledge that they been cast beyond the edges of space it’s self, but not this group! No sir! They soldiered on and quickly found themselves in a village of blue skinned humanoids with the habit of wearing white trousers and floppy white knit caps. The Blue Folk claimed to have been set upon by wicked Giants who live in the next town over, and that the Giants had made off with their most holy relic, a key that seals away the Universal Fulcrum! The Blue Folk’s religious leader; High Father, tasked our heroes with returning the key and slaying the evil Giants. Our group readily accepted this task, the promise finding a way to access an artifact of any sort of power proving to be quite appealing.

As is usual with this group only a short time passed before attempts at larceny were committed, and as usual horrible secrets were reveal! The Blue Folk were actually bloody handed murderers, who were keeping the slain corpses of the Giants’ children in their secret temple! The group pressed onwards, and soon found themselves inside the village of the Giants; a pastoral land of love and peace, where they learned that the key to the Universal Fulcrum lies within a tower of doom known as the Crying Fortress. Never knowing when it is a good idea to stop our group moved with great haste to that edifice of terror!

Inside this terrifying structure Manjo Drogo once again proved to be suicidally unwise and dove into a large decorative pool on the first floor where he was set upon by a swarm of zombified horrors. A savage battle followed and young Manjo was laid low by the blades of his undead foes. Shocked by the demise of their tiny insane ally the surviving Piranhas collected his remains and traveled back to the Giants. A large sum of money was paid and the leader of the pacifistic titans started a forbidden ritual of resurrection on the shattered body of Manjo.

While their friend was being summoned back from that shadowy land beyond the remaining pair: Rube (The Lizard King) and Thorfin Twiddlewinks, returned to that tower of dread to exact revenge upon the ones that slew their true friend (or they were looking for loot, who can tell). They quickly found themselves within the bed chamber of Dwemo Eske Master of Illusions! They learned of his back story, drank some booze with him, and through the use of lies and trickeration successfully poisoned (they transformed him into a tree) the man who was once known as The Second God.

Upon returning to the Giants’ village our heroes found the foul ritual or rebirth in it’s final terrible moments. Manjo’s body rose, it tore the rotten flesh from it’s coppery metallic bones and let out a horrifying shriek! Manjo is no more, he has returned as a truer more perfect version known as Nyog Thul kreen!

The newly formed team returned to the Blue Folk village and after some convincing lies traveled to the Temple of The First God with High Father in tow. After a fight with the surprisingly tough High Father and his ninjas our plucky crew journeyed within the great structure where their might and mettle were tested. After passing these tests they found the Universal Fulcrum clenched in the hands of a statue of Manjo Drogo and a series of dimensional portals; the reborn Nyog Thul kreen proved to be just as unwise as his predecessor jumping into a portal that seemed to be linked to a starry void, pulling his friends along for the ride.

Adventure 7
Because What High Fantasy Really Needs Are Wicked Sweet Explosions.

Thunderous Battle at Dawn, Take to the Skies Noble Heroes!

Around two months have passed since the end of the last adventure, in that time the Temple of The Outer Dark has been completed and in less than a week a congress from the free cities of Harkenwold will arrive to discuss the future of the region. At this point our friendly group was informed of a peaceful civilian protest at the gates of their new temple, when they went to confront the situation a strange woman named Patrisha appeared who made the claim that Rube The Lizard King was in fact the lost prince of the Sky Pirates.

After this revelation it really hit the fan. A squad of goons under the command of Corvalis ambushed our heroic group; the protesters were caught in the middle and were nearly wiped out to the last man. After dispatching the goon squad our plucky gang traveled to the late Patrisha’s airship the Winters Mercy and started a journey that they hoped would take them to Rube The Lizard King’s birthright. Disappointment soon followed when their ship was ambushed by Corvalis’s group, after a heated and blood filled ship to ship fight our noble heroes proved victorious.

After watching the false king Brawndo abandon his flagship our group had another surprise when the terrifying visage of Hyarkthoose of the Forty Fiends appeared, with a flick of his fingers our group found themselves marooned under an alien sky knowing only that for some inexplicable reason the archfiend had some terrible use in mind for them.

Adventure 6
Who Needs Negotiation Skills?

The Siege Of Fallcrest

In a direct continuation of our last adventure we find the brave heroes split into two groups, one locked within the walls of Fallcrest, the second at the head of the grand army of elves from Harkenwold. Through a little quick talking and a hand full of lies the PCs within the besieged city were made official negotiators and were send outside the walls to answer the elves’ request for parley. Needless to say no negotiations occurred; instead barges were loaded up with elvish soldiers, who were covered with the blood and guts of horses, these were then floated down the river past the stupefied city guard. When these hellish vessels made landfall the massacre began; assaulted from all sides the stalwart defenders of Fallcrest were wiped clean from the face of the world.

The last remnants of the invading army of Hammerfast took up positions within the impregnable fortress of Moonstone Keep planning on waiting the elvish forces out. This plan fell through when High Priestess Mary matron of the local temple of Sehanine showed our brave adventures a secret passage into the castle’s dungeons. There was an exceptional amount of ninja stealth and brutal murder, all of which culminated with the lowering of the castle’s great drawbridge. As the elvish forces swarmed the gap; laying waste to the diseased and desperate dwarf defenders, our heroic band ran into the castle’s heart and met the dwarf armies mad leader General Beardfoot. The General turned out to be a Werewolf-wizard-warlock with a magic crown to boot, he also turned out to be surprisingly killable. Manjo Drogo laid claim to the crown (and it’s curse), while the rest of the party ransacked the castle’s remaining treasure.

The adventure finishes with our plucky group being elected leaders of the city, they begin the construction of a great Temple of The Outer Dark to ward away evil, and schedule a great congress with the elf leaders at the up coming winter solstice.

Adventure 5
Machiavelli Has Nothing On This Adventuring Group

A Shadow Over Fallcrest, or Terror at Kalton Manor

A great deal has occurred since the end of the last adventure, when a floating mountain fell into the center of the once great city of Fallcrest. The aftermath of what has come to be know as the Cataclysm had a far reach, farms surrounding the city failed when their crops were buried under poisoned ash, rivers shifted course, and most recently goblin hordes swarmed from the hills preying on those that were most affected by the disaster. If that wasn’t enough the neighboring Dwarf city of Hammerfast has sent a ‘relief’ army to assist in the recovery process, although they seem more interested in building permanent residences than helping the populace.

Our heroes are brought into the picture when a man named Clark Namdas hires them to find his wife and return her to Fallcrest. The woman was last seen in a distant town known as Kalton Manor which has been silent ever since the goblins started their raids. The adventuring group takes the job, and on the journey south they pass through several small towns. The first was swarming with Hobgoblins who were dispatched quite quickly, the adventuring group then dressed the monstrous corpses in uniforms of the Fallcrest army so they could frame Lord Markelhey and get a ‘regime change’ when they returned home. The second was idyllic and peaceful, so of course it was a trap. When the heroes stopped for the night they were set upon by the local populace, this did not go well for the locals, who were butchered down to the last man. Our plucky group then used this opportunity to further besmirch the name of long dead Nimozoran by burning the town and blaming the conflagration on his servants. The heroes pressed on, meeting an army of Elves from the nation of Harkenwold they successfully blamed the entire disaster on the current Lord of Fallcrest and his Dwarf allies. Beyond the elf army the adventuring group finds the ruins of Kalton Manor and a pair of orphans whom they quickly adopt for some unknowable reason. In the gloaming hills beyond Kalton Manor the true source of the goblin invasion is found to be a motile castle ruled by a twisted witch.

Braving terrors beyond the scope of mortal men our heroes stormed the castle, within they found shadowy monsters, enslaved townsfolk, and at the towers peak the reborn witch Cigam Dab. The witch met her end at the hands of our little group for a second time when she was thrown into the arcane engine that powered her tower of dread. Victorious, the adventuring group wasted no time in brainwashing the survivors into servitude and leading the whole of the Elvish army into an invasion of Fallcrest. The adventure ended with the summary execution of Lord Markelhey and the declaration of martial law by the Dwarf armies that now have complete control of the city’s defenses.

Adventure 4
Where the tone of the Campaign takes a turn.

Strawberry Fields For Killing, or A Hard Day’s Wizard

Our fourth Adventure finds the valiant party racing to the aid of Nimozoran the local wizard, who has been kidnapped by his own students. After racing to his great tower they leap into a teleportation circle and found themselves at the gates of a marble school building jutting from the side of a floating mountain. Carving their way through the enchanted student body the group finds poor Nimozoran sealed in a crystal cage. The group shows its true colors by setting the school aflame, looting what they can carry, brainwashing an emotionally scarred young Halfling into slavery, and causing the great temple of knowledge to fall from its mighty heights, flattening a quarter of the city below. They then blame the disaster on poor murdered Nimozoran, and walk away beloved by the population they decimated.

Adventure 3

Crisis on Raven’s Roost, or Night of the Living Bandits

The third adventure finds our plucky group strong armed into locating a missing caravan for Lord Markelhey Lord of Fallcrest. A short journey beyond the city’s walls leads to the not quite abandoned bandit fortress Raven’s Roost. Zombies, Wights, and a abundance of other shambling horrors were savagely destroyed by our noble band. The caravan was found, it’s secret cargo destroyed and the zombified bandits banished to the void.

Adventure 2
Town Adventures are Great.

Welcome to Fallcrest, or How I Gave Up and Learned to Love the Murderbeast

The second adventure finds our plucky group entering the massive city-state of Fallcrest. There were a multitude of grim and terrible street fights as our group carved their way through the cities crime ridden docks. Our group met the local constable, and a helpful wizard known as Nimozoran. Secret cults were discovered, a forgotten subterranean city was pillaged and the newly awoken dragon god Murderbeast was slain. Good times.

Adventure 1

Adventure 1 Servants of The Outer Dark

The campaign started in the tiny mountain hamlet of Timsdale, when the first iteration of the fabled Piranhas stormed a tower to save half a dozen kidnapped maidens. This surprisingly heroic adventure saw the first appearance of Cigam Dab; the twisted Halfling witch and a disturbing number of bunny ears.
